  • Matsiro belongs to a collection of sculptures in the shape of different fruits.
Its interchangeable stems are a symbol that highlights the ever-changing and never-repeating nature of the environment around us. By being able to modify the stems,

we generate a new sculpture, a new interpretation of the apple.
The ability to create a completely different apple with each variation symbolizes the richness and diversity that nature constantly offers us, reminding us that it does not follow a static cycle.
Metaphorically, Matsiroi urges us to remember the impermanence, the vitality of our environment and its great value.
