Sotavento is a kinetic mobile. As it turns, its forms evoke the sails of a moving vessel; however, it is not the ship itself that is being contemplated, but the meaning of navigation: the act of flowing and the conscious choice to let oneself be carried by the current.
 
This piece marks the beginning of a new era, as it is the first time we have brought together three materials: the solidity of ceramic, the warmth of walnut, and the lightness of Japanese Shoji paper. While the ceramic and walnut provide weight and structure, the shoji paper acts as a sensitive boundary, transforming the invisible force of the wind into a continuous, gentle movement.
 
Sotavento is a unique piece conceived to create, through its slow movement, a space for pause, contemplation, and calm.

This mobile has been entirely handcrafted by us and requires simple, careful maintenance.

To keep it in good condition, we recommend nourishing the wooden parts once a year with natural oil or wax, helping to preserve their texture, color, and stability over time. It is important to apply the oil with particular care and avoid any contact with the shoji paper or ceramic pieces, as it may leave permanent stains that are difficult or impossible to remove.

The ceramic pieces can be gently cleaned with a clean, dry cloth or a soft duster. For the koji paper, we recommend removing dust with a very delicate duster, without rubbing or applying pressure to its surface. Avoid contact with water and any cleaning products.

To ensure its durability, avoid impacts, pulling, or drops that could damage its components, as a fall could cause one or more of its pieces to break.

This is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children, as some of its pieces could break and pose a risk if handled or swallowed.
